Mastodon - Crack the Skye

Shameless necro just to say myself, Seffyroff and Omero went to see Mastodon play Amsterdam on Saturday and it was superb. Heavier and dirtier live than the album, but it suited the venue and the crowd who all wanted something a little more than just a clean cover of the album. They then proceeded to stretch the Last Baron out to nearly 25 minutes as a finale, featuring three attempts to finish it (guitar tuning fail) with the first two attempts including a piano ... before proceeding to play Circle of Cysquatch, Aqua Dementia, Where Strides The Behemoth, Mother Puncher, Iron Tusk and March of the Fire Ants as their encore. Beautiful stuff.
